Today, I’m more interested in God’s faithfulness and mercy. Essentially, there would be a stopping point to the fun things I could buy. The real “ gold“Īs a child, I really just wanted the pot of gold. The rainbow is actually a symbol of God’s faithfulness and mercy. After Noah’s story of the flood in the Bible, God put a rainbow in the sky as a sign and promise that he would never destroy the earth again with a flood. ![]() They are still magical today.įurthermore, rainbows actually have something better than a pot of gold at the end. To me, this is the most interesting part about rainbows. The magic of the rainbow was still in my heart. Even as an adult, I still had some deep hope that the end of the rainbow had a pot of gold. I’d be lying to you if I said that I didn’t go out and look at the end in hopes that maybe there was a pot of gold at the end. The end of the rainbow just showed up in my front yard. This meant I had to go out and work.ĭuring this special day, it found me in my own yard without me having to work at finding it. ![]() It always seemed elusive and too distant. My wife looked out the window and said, “Come check this out! The end of the rainbow is in our yard!”Įven though I tried hard as a child, I was never able to get to the actual end of the rainbow. ![]() It was heavy, but brief.Īfter it had blown through, there was a light misting rain gently coming down. The other day there was a massive storm that came through our area. Unfortunately, I was disappointed every time. I’d see a rainbow and ride my bike towards it, trying to find the end with the pot of gold. I wanted this to be real more than anything. One story I always enjoyed was the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. When I was little, I loved to hear about magical and mystical stories. ![]()
